Pexhurst has recently completed the design and build of an outstanding luxury detached dwelling in Alderton Hill, Essex, comprising 8 bedrooms, an indoor swimming pool, a basement wine cellar and landscaped gardens.

This is a project that Pexhurst managed in its entirety, from design, to build, to handover, providing a varied range of services and completing the project to the highest of standards, adding that ‘wow’ factor throughout.

The construction is a traditional build with cavity brick/block walls to the building envelope and incorporates upvc double glazed windows with a pitched slate roof and flat roof.

The internal specification was very high and attention to detail essential. Various floor coverings were used throughout including walnut wood flooring, carpet, ceramic tiles and polished marble. Oak was used for skirting’s, doors and frames as well as for a central staircase that sets the scene as you enter the house.

An indoor swimming pool, with mood lighting, and a well appointed kitchen provide feature rooms downstairs and the house is fitted with underfloor heating throughout and air conditioning in parts.

Pexhurst carried out all the M&E services within the build, including the installation of lighting, power, data cabling, a cctv and intruder alarm system, fire alarm, sound system and a door entry system, and also installed all sanitaryware to the bathrooms including heated towel rails. 

The external finish to the property was as important as the internal and Pexhurst provided a complete hard and soft landscaping service which included the construction of brick boundary walls, metal railings and automatic gates, as well as laying a new lawn to the rear of the property, installation of an irrigation system to the front & rear, the refurbishment of an existing pond and the installation of new external lighting.

The result is an outstanding property that Pexhurst is proud to have designed and built from scratch, providing the complete range of services and finishes to the highest standards.
